Bon Voyage

The studio is empty again. I always have a lot of nervous energy before sending work off for an exhibition. So much care, time and thought goes into every piece that you know them inside out.  To package it up and send it off knowing that for the first time it’s going to be observed, analysed and judged by many sets of eyes, is a strange feeling.

I once again recruited the help of my other half to be my artist assistant – a job he’s very good at! We spent a couple of days building boxes to securely package all the work ahead of their big adventure. Properly packaging work is something not to be taken lightly when the work has such a big journey ahead of it. Just another aspect to take into consideration when making work in a remote place.  I’m definitely a wee bit nervous for their safety as they embark on the >200mile crossing over the rough North Sea to get to Aberdeen. Fingers crossed they all get there safely!
