Happy Winter Solstice everyone! We can officially celebrate the darkness being at its most pure and enjoy the fact that from now on the days will be getting longer and lighter. Phew!
I feel this as a prominent turning point and although the longer days won’t be apparent for a while yet, this day is a good reminder to shake off the winter blues and get energised again.
Shetland sits at 60 degrees North and at Winter Solstice we only see about 6hours of daylight, compared to the Summer Solstice when we can see 19hours of daylight.
Recently I have been enjoying being back working in the studio, just small studies and little works but it gets the ideas flowing again. I’m in the midst of forming plans for 2016 but for right now I am going to relax, indulge and enjoy the festives with my friends, family and loved ones here in Shetland.
Wishing you all a peaceful, happy and creative Christmas x
